There have been a lot of questions about when to expect Terri’s books on the Nooks, so I felt it’d be appropriate to respond to these all at once. Here’s what Terri has discovered:
Barnes and Noble is restructuring. Part of that restructuring was to create a new contract with indie authors. This new contract requires the author’s books can be read for free in any of the Barnes and Noble bookstores, and also requires that the B&N customers be allowed to copy, paste and print-out an author’s ebook. Obviously, indie authors ONLY get paid when we sell a book. Allowing free distribution of books will destroy our livelihood. Many of the indie authors I know (myself included) are not signing this new contract. We are hoping that B&N will see the error of their ways and offer us a contract similar to the one we have with Amazon. Until that point, I really hope that my readers can take advantage of the FREE kindle software and download it on their computer, smart-phone or ipad and continue to read my stories. Thanks so much for your understanding in this matter. Terri
I am truly sorry to hear about the indie authors contract. Its not fair, when your books are only $2.99, and Barnes and Noble wants us to read it for free. I gladly buy your books. Love the series, hope B n N will fix the contract, GOOD LUCK!!
